Singapore Open golf tournament

Not every day you get a chance to watch a golf tournament, so when they held Singapore Open this week in Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club, I went there, walking in the huge grass course, seeing how top world players play golf. They hit some amazing shots, how they could hit the golf ball from 200-300 metres away, and yet the ball landed less than 10 metres from the hole, all in a sunny but very windy weather this afternoon. You get to see professional players like Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, and Angel Cabrera (who won Singapore Open title today and US$4 million cash prize, after fending off Vijay by only one shot) play. Initially, I only expected about 200 people will come to watch golf, after all, it's not a popular sport like soccer, but to my amazement, when I reached there, I saw thousands of people walking around the golf field, following their favorite player from the side.

The crowd are "professional" too. When a player is about to take his shot, the marshals will raise a sign that says "Quiet please", and all the crowd will suddenly turn quiet. Very very quiet in fact, the crowd sitting/standing behind the ropes barriers don't even move, until the player has taken his shot, then crowd will turn noisy again, clapping.
