Trip to Bintan

DSC00304Last Friday, 29 October, was a half working day for me, a big number of us went for a team outing in a 5-star Bintan Lagoon Resort on Friday and Saturday. Some of us have already went there earlier for games of golf. I was in the 2 pm batch since I decided to stay to cover for my team absence who went there in the morning. After lunch time, we headed directly to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, checked in, took the super-duper rocky ferry (some actually vomited in the ferry, some took extra precaution by consuming anti-nausea pill <- read: sleeping pill :p) reached Bintan at 2 pm Bintan time (3 pm Singapore time). We headed straight to hotel, checked in, and immediately came out to the beach with the most amazing sand I've ever felt, it was sooooo sooooo soooooofffftttt..... unlike those in Sentosa :p

We were divided into three groups played a total of six teambuilding games. The team are named "creatively" Sure-Win, Champions, Best Champions. haha...

Don Moen - I Will Sing

As a Christian, it doesn't mean that our life will be free from troubles and problems. We pray, I pray, but there are times when we really really don't feel like praying, for whatever reason. This was the song that encouraged me so much a couple of years back to pray again when I didn't feel like praying and I felt so low, because when you don't feel like praying is the time when you really need to pray the most. Hope this can be a blessing to those who are having lots of struggles in their life that it seems hard to pray. When you don't know how, when you don't know what to pray, when you don't feel like praying, pray still GBU.

Don Moen - I Will Sing Lord You seem so far away
A million miles or more it feels today
And though I haven't lost my faith
I must confess right now
That it's hard for me to pray
But I don't know what to say
And I don't know where to start
But as You give the grace
With all that's in my heart

Chorus:
I will sing I will praise
Even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing I will praise
Lift my hands to honor You
Because Your Word is true
I will sing

Lord it's hard for me to see
All the thoughts and plans You have for me
But I will put my trust in You
Knowing that You died to set me free
But I don't know what to say
And I don't know where to start
But as You give grace
With all that's in my heart

Chorus

DBS iB Secure Device

DBS iB Secure DeviceToday, I got my Internet Banking Secure device from DBS Bank for my Internet Banking purposes. DBS sent out all these devices to all its customers in order to improve on its Internet Banking security. This device serves as a second factor authentication for my online banking security. It generates random six digits number every minute. No doubt my online transaction will be more secure now, as User ID and PIN alone will not be sufficient to login. However, this create nuisances where I need to perform online banking transaction but forgot to bring the device with me.

I was told that HSBC has also sent out similar devices to its customer, Standard Chartered Bank will make do with sending SMS to customer's mobile phones starting from 15 November 2006, Citibank will be using SMS for general customers and secure device for investment-related customer, UOB has yet to announce anything.

I personally prefer Standard Chartered way. At least I will have my mobile phone everywhere, much higher chance than having this additional secure device with me. Have you gotten your device yet? What do you think of this new two-factor authentication? A need or annoyances? Or you don't even use Internet Banking at all?
