It's hendrikch.com

It has been long due, but it's here now. http://www.hendrikch.com !!!
Eventually, I bought the domain at US$7.99 from DomainSite, the one that had reliably register my previous hendrikch.info. Since they have done a great job, no issue whatsoever in the past one year, I decided to go with the tried and tested domain registrar.

I have also setup appropriate email account for my blog, appropriately called blog [at] hendrikch.com

Help save Messenger Plus!

You all use MSN Messenger? Do you use Messenger Plus? It is the best, IMHO, plug-in for MSN Messenger. Recently, Microsoft released their Microsoft Antispyware and this software incorrectly flag Messenger Plus as an ad-ware. To be frank, Messenger Plus! installer DOES contain ad-ware, albeit optional. The Messenger Plus! itself (not the installer) DOES NOT contain anything. Microsoft Antispyware incorrectly flag the Messenger Plus! as an adware and removed it, causing many problems with Messenger Plus! uninstallation in the future.

If this continue, Messenger Plus! will be seen as an ad-ware by novice users, and will soon go for extinction. If you love this plug-in, lend your mouse click to sign the petition to save them, for the benefit of all of us.

I believe I can't fly

That's why I'm taking airplane
Anyway, I will not be in Singapore from today (Friday, 9th) 8 pm onwards. I'll be back on Monday, 19th September. If you need anything urgent, my mobile will still be on, and for not-so-urgent matters, my email will always be there (still got 1.8 GB left ), though it will take longer than usual for me to reply your email.

As for my blog, so sorry that I must go into 'hiatus' mode for ten days. But don't worry, I'll be back, so keep checking again after 19th, will ya? See ya all then. Adios....

Opera 8.50 is FREE !!!

The wait is over. Opera 8.50 browser is finally TOTALLY free, now and forever. Yee haaa !!!!
Get your copy from Opera download website. If only now someone can take the best out of both Opera and Firefox and integrate them into one, that will be perfect.

Starhub survey

Survey from Starhub i-mode website.

Life discerning dominant ideal seeker

You understand that new does not always mean better and you see no reason to skip from one fad to the next. You value things that have stood the test of time, things that have proved themselves. You can give a 120% when you need to, but know that you don't need to 100% of the time. You know that life is for living, and you're smart enough to make sure that you have time to relax, chill and just be yourself.

You tend to identify more strongly with your own thoughts than any other personality.  To others you are the one with the sharp intellect, strong need for independence and privacy, and intensity of your cerebral interests.  You love explaining the world and predicting what it will do next.  This derives partly from natural curiosity, and partly because you sense much of the world to be unreliable, requiring that you use your intellect to bring order to your own corner of it.

You have a strong desire to investigate, observe, and understand an issue deeply and provocatively.  You are often independent and self-motivated, with a strong need for privacy. For example, others will often have no idea what you have been working on until it is finished and unveiled.  Some of the greatest minds in history had similar traits, people whose ideas challenged the conventional wisdom, forcing those around them to think differently.

Famous people who share these traits include:
William Rhenquist, Stephen Hawking, Helen Keller, Arthur C. Clarke,Sigmund Freud, Nikola Tesla, Isaac Newton.

Cycling in East Coast

After today's KKR at TrueWay Presbyterian Church, Queenstown, I went to East Coast for cycling. The KKR ended around 4.30, so I can only reach East Coast close to 6 pm. It was not really well-planned and well-prepared that I had to cycle in long pants and not-so-sweat-absorbing shirt. I had half-McD-burger before embarking on a cycling frenzy to one end of East Coast and back from 6.15 pm to 7.45 pm, stopping in two Jettys along the way. After that, went for dinner in one of the cafe in East Coast, before going back home by bus. Reached home about 10.45 pm, feeling my body kinda aching, and sorry, my two bottom bones, in slight pain now. hehehe....

Technology helps?

When I was inside a lift in my office this afternoon, I heard people were talking about how they seem busier even when we have all these technologies like emails and handphones. IM, emails, and handphones are supposed to help us work faster, but they said that we seem to be busier compared to those living in the time when IM, emails, and handphones are not so widespread yet (or even older, these have not been invented yet)

What do you think? Is technology helping us to work faster, and when we are even busier even after we work faster, does that mean we actually accomplish much much more compared to our previous generation?

Buffet and Buffet

After last week's buffet at Amara hotel, today I went to Ellenborough Market Cafe in Swissotel Merchant Court for dinner to close my current financial year on a high note. Here, people said, the durian dessert is very good, and I can testify to that statement that it is indeed very good. This is my second time here, and one dessert that I will always take is the durian dessert. Another new dessert was a marshmallow satay covered in melted chocolate ... *slurp* hahaha...

The rest of the food are kinda different from other international buffet and if you are "bored" with other hotel's food, you should come here and try their buffet food. How much would you ask? Honestly, I have no idea because hehehe.. you know what.

Accident in PIE

I was going back home from Wheelock Place just now, so I headed to the bus stop at the back of Orchard MRT. When I was crossing the road from Wheelock Place, I saw three buses that I can take back home, 700A, 190, and 171 all zoomed past me, so I ended up waiting for quite sometime in the bus stop. Eventually 190 came, so I boarded the bus.

Before it went into PIE, I saw there's traffic message saying: "Slow traffic up to Adam Road" and true to its saying, before the bus even turned into PIE, it already started queuing in the jam. A couple of minutes later, we found out that there were freak accident in PIE involving FIVE cars, two of them taxis. There were police cars, two (if I'm not wrong) ambulances, and a lot of ke-po people driving slowly to look at them, causing long traffic jam in PIE. After quite sometime, we managed to get through the jam and the journey home was smooth as usual. Hope those people involved in that accident are all okay.
